Goodbye … again

This time of year is a great one for ‘wraps’. The 25 Best Novels, The 15 Funniest Films, The 13 Most Fashionable People, etc. For me as an obit writer, one of my very favourite each year is the one from the New York Times magazine: The Lives They Lived. Not only are the stories wonderful but the production is always sublime.

Oh, it never fails to bring me joy! And sadness too that those people have gone but overall, joy because taking a peek at how others lived their lives inspires me to live mine better. Do you notice that too?
